IR Skin Tightening
How Does Skin Tightening Work?At the Southwest Vein & Laser Institute, we offer a variety of skin tightening procedures for the face, neck and tummy in our Phoenix, Arizona facility. Our experienced skincare professionals can help you achieve a more youthful appearance by using laser technology to improve the condition of aging skin.
We use a fractional infrared handpiece called DeepIR to deliver infrared light beams deep into the dermis layer of skin, which stimulates the body's natural healing process. The infrared rays create new tissue and thereby reduce the laxity of the face, neck or stomach, creating a tighter appearance.
This fractional approach is safer and less painful than the bulk heating approach that is performed by many clinicians to tighten skin. With this method, much of the skin surrounding the affected area is left alone so the treatment is more direct and effective. DeepIR also uses a three-stage cooling process to cool the skin before, during and after each pulse of light to further minimize discomfort.
After the treatment is completed, you may experience lingering warmth, redness or tightness. These symptoms usually fade within a few hours of treatment. As much of the skin is unaffected by the lasers, the healing process is generally very quick. Most people are able to go back to work and resume normal activities after their appointment.
To achieve the desired results, most patients will need to complete a series of treatments. We recommend that patients strategically space out these appointments four to six weeks apart to allow each treatment to take full effect.
