BOTOX® Cosmetic Treatment
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a non-surgical aesthetic procedure that temporarily reduces the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines in the brow area. People from ages 18-65 receive the best benefits from the treatment, and the results can last as long as four months. BOTOX® Cosmetic is a purified protein derived from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. The treatment is one of the few of its kind approved by the Food and Drug Administration.
The actual BOTOX® treatment usually only takes 10 minutes, and there is no recovery time needed afterwards. The doctor first determines where the injections are most needed and then administers a series of tiny injections into the area. Most people see results within the first few days.
The Southwest Vein & Laser Institute proudly offers the residents of Scottsdale and Phoenix, Arizona BOTOX® procedures. Although results from BOTOX® generally last up to four months, please be aware that you may require an additional injection sooner than that to maintain the smooth appearance. If you are not able to make an appointment for BOTOX® at our Phoenix office during the time frame, the frown lines will gradually look like they did before treatment.
During this simple procedure, we make every effort to minimize your discomfort. Although pain associated with this procedure is usually minor, Dr. Murphy may numb the area with a cold pack or anesthetic cream before the procedure begins. Side effects associated with the BOTOX® procedure may include a temporary eyelid droop, nausea, tenderness or bruising.
